The Maxwell College Dental Clinic
offers a variety of services to our students and the community.
The College Dental Clinic is located
on the 2nd floor of our campus, 270 Front Street, Belleville,
Ontario.

Parking is available in the City Parking Lot behind the
College.
Follow the walkway to Front Street and enter the Maxwell
College Clinic Doors, located to the left of the College Main Entrance at 270
Front Street.
Adult Dental Clinic:
Dental Care is provided by students, and supervised by
faculty.
Appointments include a complete examination, a thorough
cleaning, scaling and polishing of teeth.
Radiographs and fluoride treatments are provided as
required.
Children's Dental Clinic:
Radiographs and fluoride treatments are provided as
necessary.
Appointments are 3 hours in length.

Why are we here?
We use the clinic to educate Dental
Assistants, and Dental Hygienists. While delivering services, students are
supervised by Registered Dental Hygienists and licensed Dentists.
What services do we provide?
Preventive services (check-up) for
adults and children.
We provide the following dental
disease prevention services:
Oral
examinations; cleaning of teeth, instruction in helpful oral self-care
procedures and if required, exposure of x-rays; application of fluorides;
placement of enamel sealants on teeth.
Do I quality for services?
We treat clients whose needs
complement the learning needs of the students. Any member of the community over
the age of five years of age is eligible to access our services. If we cannot
meet your needs in the clinic, we reserve the right to refer you to a dental
treatment facility that can provide the service you require.
Arrange an appointment with the
Clinic Manager.
We expect you to arrive for each
appointment on time, and be able to stay for the full clinical session. Should
you be more then 20 minutes late for an appointment, the student may have found
a substitute client for the session and you will require a new appointment.
If you cannot keep an appointment,
we appreciate at least 48 hours notice of cancellation.
To change an appointment or to
notify us of late arrival please call (613) 962-7846 ext. 248. Failure to notify
us in advance may result in our restricting your access to further services.
Clients who are accompanied by
younger children must bring a responsible child sitter to stay with the
children in the reception area while the parent receives treatment.
Children are not allowed in the
clinic while parents are being treated.
If you are taking prescription
drugs, please bring a list of the medications and dosages that you are taking
to your first appointment.
Some medical conditions may require
that you take medication and dosages before your first appointment. If you have
been told that you require medication prior to dental treatment please advise
the clinical receptionist when making your first appointment that you require
premedication for dental treatments so that appropriate arrangements can be
made.

Your First Appointment
Your first appointment will involve an assessment, which includes your health history. Please bring a list of all medications, including inhalers, which you are taking as well as the full name, address and phone number of your doctor and dentist. If you have had dental x-rays within the past 2 years, you should try to bring them with you.
Clinic Hours
The dental hygiene clinic hours are varied Monday - Friday (depending on the progression of the students in their course of study). The clinic is closed on all Civic and Statutory Canadian holidays. Call (613) 962-7846 ext. 248 to register with our Clinic Manager.
